Getting silhouette photos while free diving is always a challenge. Yes this is a real photo and every photo I have ever post of my own is real. What is fake is the way traditional media has twisted the perceptions of sharks from Important apex predators to human eating monsters. With movies like Jaws, the Shallows, and discovery’s shark week, @oceanramsey myself, and @keonishoots wanted to make a documentary that focused on changing the way most people feel and think about sharks, inspiring this generation and the next to save what we have left. Shark populations around the world have been decimated by 95%. Extinction in our lifetime is very real for so many species of sharks. So proud of braddah @keoniashley and the work he put into making “Saving Jaws”. It is playing at the Chinese theater today at 4pm. 6925 Hollywood Blvd Hollywood, CA 90028 United States. This is what Australia needs right now. I still can’t believe that over 1 billion animals and 23 people have been killed in these continued wild fires. Now their under threat of Fire clouds or pyrocumulus clouds, that could cause even more destruction. Climate change may or may not have not started this fire but it is fueling it with record high temperatures and heat waves. We can all make a difference on the impact humans are having on the planet. With 2020 elections this year we need to make sure the US has a leader that actually cares about the future of this planet and the environment. Most importantly we vote with our ????, be a conscious consumer. Try to source things locally and chose the most sustainable options possible. Daniel and the Bahamas residents need help with this recovery process. Connection....@oceanramsey and Roxy the tiger shark. Roxy is one of the sharks that I have literally grown up with over the past 20 years. Love that Roxy has her eyes open going straight to @oceanramsey. If a shark feels threatened or a potential for harm when they approach something they will roll a Nictitating membrane over their eyes to protect them. In this photo Roxy fully trust Ocean keeping that eye contact going. Less ice and more plastic. So incredibly sad to see this image. Repost from @savethereef This was last week in Norilsk, Russia where a stray polar bear was found scavenging for food in a garbage dump. Sadly, this is the result of #climatechange that’s been melting the ice caps so #polarbears now have less time to hunt for food and are often starving to death. And this is why they now look for food wherever they can…even in garbage dumps! We refuse to allow this to continue to happen without trying to help these poor creatures and the first step is to spread awareness about this issue because we need everyone to treat the environment better in this critical time.
